Audi is in the middle of a design transition; that much is clear, and these renderings here might provide an idea of where things are heading with the next-generation Audi A6.
As we can see in the photo gallery below, the next-gen Audi A6 features design cues from the Concept C, a prototype that announces revolutionary changes in terms of design that Audi will implement on its upcoming models. Surely, there`s nothing yet official; however, the direction feels deliberate.

Audi’s new design boss since 2024, Massimo Frascella, has definitely brought a real change in the company’s new visual identity in terms of revolutionary design language.
The new design language was first previewed last year with the Concept C, described as a dramatic statement from the brand. That concept served as an early glimpse at a two-door model intended to succeed the TT — although that particular plan hasn’t been without its problems.
Exterior
To give the A6 a fresh identity, Sugar Design transplanted key elements of the Concept C onto a sleek four-door body. The most controversial angle is likely the front. Instead of the familiar single-frame grille that has defined Audi for years, the render shows a tablet-shaped flat black grille. It departs dramatically from what we’re used to seeing.

That grille is paired with narrow LED headlights, similar to those on the Concept C, along with more traditional vertical air intakes. The combination feels sharp. Maybe even divisive.
Taking a closer look at the car`s side, there are also subtle changes, such as redesigned doors, revised belt line, or different quarter panels. The shape of the sides is described as sultry, and it does seem more sculpted than the current A6.
Moving towards the rear, the new A6 might also borrow the Concept C`s slim horizontal taillights or blacked-out lower bumper and diffuser section.
Conclusion
Still referring to Frascella as a real visionary, the boss already confirmed that all upcoming Audi models will come with the front grille taking inspiration from the Concept C, while other tweaks will be made to each fascia, to make sure that each model will individually stand out rather than look the same.
It will be several years before existing Audi models are replaced with designs penned by Frascella. The current-generation A6 was introduced less than a year ago, meaning a new one won’t arrive until the next decade.
Still, these renderings hint at what might be coming. And whether loved or debated, the shift seems unavoidable.
