Over the last few years, car manufacturers have shifted their resources to making fuel-efficient hybrid cars.
The general public has always preferred fuel efficiency over power because fuel prices are unstable and cars that have bigger engines gulp down fuel as if they have been thirsty for eternity.
If you have a modern car that is either a hybrid or has a CVT transmission, you are automatically fuel-efficient, but there are still ways to keep your gasoline expenses down. You can do that just by driving intelligently.
Petrol and Diesel Cars
Any vehicle that uses gasoline or diesel for the purpose of running emits gases that are considered harmful to the environment. In an economic driving style that occurs, you not only are giving benefits to yourself, but you also are giving benefits to the environment.
For a vehicle to utilize much less fuel, a few things should be known and a few things should be practiced rather than following the general advice.
The first thing is to feed your car with the best fuel on the market. Slow-burning, high-quality fuel smog inhibits misfires and rich a/f mixture.
Another way you can tell is by looking at the RPM gauge. The lower you are in RPM, the higher the vehicle efficiency is.
However, the best r.v.p. approach for the economical driving is to hover around 2,000 RPM. In another case, if you are used to hitting 3,000 RPM, then you will empty the fuel tank quicker.
Turbocharged Cars Vs Non-Turbocharged Cars
Although a naturally aspirated gear operates on its own delivering all the power, turbo aids have been in use for a long time to develop a compact engine.
Turbos allowed a tiny 1.8-liter engine to achieve the power of a 5.0-liter engine. The only disadvantage is that when the turbo spools, the engine gets to work harder and therefore it uses more fuel.
In order to prevent additional fuel consumption, you should try to have a gentle foot on the throttle. The lighter you are on the accelerator, the more chances there are not to trigger the turbo. They are set to operate within a specific rev range and that range differs from one manufacturer to another.
You can find that out yourself by trial and error, as the sound of turbo spools can be easily heard over the engine noise.
Electric and Hybrid Cars
Even though these cars are efficient, there are still ways to save fuel in them. You can try to drive your car at lower speeds, which will keep the battery power running for longer and prevent the engine from not activating.
The same principle applies to electric cars. The easier you are on the throttle, the more power you are likely to save.
