Ford has opened orders for a Mustang that leans heavily into visual identity rather than mechanical revision.
The new Mustang EcoBoost TLD Signature Edition continues the traditional 2.3-liter configuration, but dresses the entry-level coupe in a package designed with California-based Troy Lee Designs, the company more commonly associated with motocross helmets, mountain bike apparel, and the racewear of IndyCar and F1 racers.
Only 550 examples are planned, and each one carries a serialized IP badge inside the cabin to mark that limited production run. Pricing starts from the standard Mustang’s $32,640 entry point, while the TLD package itself adds another $3,000.

The visual work, though, goes much further than a decal package.
Shadow Black serves as the base finish, a color Ford normally offers without extra charge. Over that, the body receives side graphics in red, orange, purple, and yellow, shaped to incorporate both the Pony emblem and Ford lettering. Matching graphics continue over the hood, which helps the car look far removed from a regular EcoBoost even before you notice the front-end changes.
The front parts are in fact borrowed from the Mustang. The Ford design team chose the hood, grille, and front fascia of the Mustang GT, making this one look much sharper in the face than the standard EcoBoost. The nostril inserts on each side of the grille are also completed in Sinister Bronze, the color of the 19-inch wheels.

Inside, Ford chose a single color route: Carmine Red throughout the cabin, as the company`s decision to make the interior feel different the moment the door opens. About his collaboration with Ford, and for this particular, Troy Lee simply said that: “The pony is such a recognizable symbol, so being able to reinterpret it through the Troy Lee Designs lens was a dream.”

Performance-wise, the new Mustang EcoBoost TLD Signature Edition comes with the same stock engine and power. This means a 2.3-liter EcoBoost with 325 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels via a ten-speed automatic transmission, enabling, at the same time, a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
Ford clearly knows this edition is about presence first. The drivetrain remains untouched, yes, but the limited production number and the unusual color treatment suggest the company is aiming at buyers who care less about added output and more about owning something visibly separate from the standard EcoBoost line.
