When it comes to the UK market, the new 2023 Peugeot e-2008 electric crossover SUV will arrive soon, with pricing between £36,295 and £40,495 depending on trim. With the all-new e-2008, Peugeot aims to add style, technology, and efficiency to the compact electric crossover category at a cheaper price point than its closest competitors.

Stylish New Design

According to me, Peugeot has a very well designed e-2008 having sharp edges like most of the cars of the brand and a “toothed” grille. The front fascia is very classy and very much on the next level. The Peugeot e-2008 is slightly different in design and appearance than the e-3008, but it is of a smaller design. Really, I sometimes find that if you look at it from a specific angle, then it might look more like a coupe.

There are the red rear taillights, which look really aggressive and cool because of their 3D claw design. As for the exterior design, it brings a futuristic and bold touch that is quite unlike anything else in the small crossover segment. This will be good for buyers who are looking for something trendy while at the same time being useful.

High Technology and Features of Comfort and Convenience

Regarding what Peugeot is loading into the e-2008, it comes with the newest technologies that aim at making the interior, as well as the overall driving experience comfortable and convenient. Among them, one can mention the 10-inch touch screen with navigation, wireless charging for a phone, advanced driving assist systems, and special settings through the 3D i-Cockpit controls.

I think that the interior design of the place is great and it seems very much in tune with the present days. The options also include the available panorama slide and tilt moonroof and the luxury of an airy sunroof. This is evident from whether Peugeot was keen on making the e-2008 as comfortable and technologically advanced as possible. Families will like all the passenger accommodation space as well as all the cargo space as well.

Power and Driving Dynamics

The Peugeot e-2008 EV is driven by a 50 kWh battery pack that delivers power to the 100 kW electric motor. Performance, on the other hand, is quite impressive with an output of 134 bhp and 192 lb-ft of instant torque. Not incredibly potent, yet sufficiently potent to make the Peugeot e-2008 appear rapid by acceleration standards.

In my opinion, the power level sits perfectly well in an urban cross-over where surge is more crucial than out-right velocity. That battery placement is low should also give it nice handling because the car’s center of gravity would be low. This can be done within 30 minutes using 100 kW DC fast charger if the battery is recharged from 5% to 80%. Therefore, recharging of their road trip will be fast. In general, the powertrain specs point to a new car that is responsive and usable in everyday driving conditions.

Trim Levels and Variants

In the UK market, Peugeot is offering the e-2008 EV in three core trim levels: Active Premium, Allure, and GT we then have a new generation of Elantra. Depending on the model, the Active Premium costs £36,295 and comes with some standard equipment such as navigation, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, rearview camera and so on. As you move up to the Allure trim from the base price of £38,440, the additional features include the 3D heads up display, the improved sound system, and heated front seats.

Last not the least is the GT model that begins at £40,495 offering sportier looks, Alcantara bolstered seats, driving assists, and a plethora of options. The kind of specifications offered at each level is clearly showing a good value for the money. Peugeot e-2008s are completely user-driven and it is easy to find a car that is within the buyer’s price range.

Charging Considerations

When it comes to Peugeot e-2008, the recharging option is critical because it defines a car as an EV. The battery capacity provided in the car is 50 kW AC/DC fast charging support. A wallbox has a capacity of 7.4 kW, and it takes 7.5 hours to fully charge from 0-100% with a charging efficiency of 94% of the electric car battery. The newer feature of fast charging as mentioned above offers a 5-80% charge within half an hour.

For home charging I’d need to get a wallbox for the fastest speeds, however this is the most common type of charger. It also provides comfortable and easy to use range and charging management options for the Peugeot e-2008. In summary, with the recharging options it remains convenient for owners of electric cars, and the availability of public EV infrastructure increases as well.

Advantages Over Rivals

I think the combustion of the e-2008 makes a lot of sense compared to rivals like the Nissan Ariya, VW ID.4, and Kia e-Niro as an electric crossover. This makes it look more muscular and meaner than the rather more bland looking ID.4 and e-Niro in my book at least. The Ariya has benefits of offering more tech and better styling but it costs more.

The Peugeot e-2008 also stands to be fun as a vehicle to drive. When comparing the car’s attractiveness and utility in terms of Looks, Interior Space & Comfort, Range, Features, and Price, this is a very appealing EV at a price that makes lots of sense for UK consumers. It appears Peugeot have got the strategy somewhere near their mouth.

Final Verdict

At this, I do not think Peugeot could be commended enough for bringing what appears to be a stunning electric crossover to the UK market in the e-2008. This is looking stylish and striking, has a contemporary interior, well-equipped, fun to drive, quick and good value for money – which all makes for a very attractive proposition in total.

As the EV sector is set to grow further, the Peugeot e-2008 has the potential to appeal to the traditional mass-market and even premium carmakers’ consumers eager to get style, added functionality, and reasonable prices for their electric car. For all these reasons, Peugeot’s new e-2008 EV is most desirable, especially given the car’s eye-catching design and driving range of up to 310 miles on a single charge.
